les poinsettias

Pour les poinsettias, la prévention est préférable à la guérison

This project will deliver a complete, reliable, cost effective and sustainable IPM strategy to control resistant Bemisia in poinsettia. The preventative techniques developed in this project can be applied to other pests (e.g. thrips, aphids and several mite species) and to other crops that are started from cuttings. The long term goal is to provide growers with tools to respond to emerging pest issues. The results will ultimately improve the productivity, profitability and sustainability of the Ontario?s greenhouse floriculture sector. This will be achieved, in part, by improving the efficiency and reliability of biological control in greenhouse ornamental production, which will drive adoption and reduce losses to pests and diseases.
